Diario de Mallorca: "INSUU was born in Mallorca and this is how it presents itself to the world"
Diario de Mallorca – September 19, 2025 · Interview with Cristina Ruggieri, Founder and Creative Director of INSUU
— What does it mean for INSUU to be a partner of the Diario de Mallorca Padel Tournament once again?
We do it because we like to participate, donate, and show support; we have also taken part in charity events. The brand is already well-known here in Mallorca, but it is a pleasure for the winners to have an INSUU product that they can make use of when they go to play.
— What does INSUU mean?
In Italian, "in su" means "upwards." We added a "u" to give it more strength, but the concept is to go up, like the ball, like the emotion that sports give you.
— You are the creator of this brand. Tell us about yourself.
I am Italian, but I have worked a lot in New York and Miami. I have been in Mallorca for seven years. When I arrived here, I started this project because I play a lot of tennis and padel. I gradually introduced INSUU to more and more padel clubs on the island. I also collaborate with Catalan teams like Sant Gervasi, and this year I went to the United States for a trade fair in Miami. INSUU is already selling there, and I will return in November to continue with the promotion.
— How much of Mallorca remains in INSUU's identity?
I am proud to have created the first padel and tennis apparel brand in Mallorca. INSUU is a brand born in Mallorca, and I make sure to let that be known whenever I present it abroad, with the inscription "Palma de Mallorca." We design everything here and my team is Spanish. As for production, 70% of our fabrics are manufactured in Spain.
— Who is your target audience?
It is a style not only for twenty-year-olds, but for women of any age, who can go out for coffee in our clothes looking elegant. There is no age limit in sports today, and I love that older women find an affordable yet elegant option in INSUU.
